Fabric Nightclub, London
Fabric, located in London’s Farringdon district, opened in 1999 and has been an iconic part of the capital’s club scene ever since. Consistently voted one of the world’s best clubs, Fabric’s 25,000 sq feet of space provides a home for a mixed programme of underground DJ talent, internationally-renowned electronic music legends and live acts. A combination of regular weekend club nights and up to 200 one-off events a year attract over 400,000 people to the club annually.
Luke Laws is Fabric’s Manager. He’s been with the company since 2008 and has 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
“We work with a lot of suppliers and Power Epos are one of the few contractors who make you feel that they really value your business. Jeremy, our main contact, is an absolute legend. If I send an email about something in the morning, it’s done by that night. But we get great support from the engineers too. Whenever we have an issue they are there, come to the site, respond straight away.”
The system itself has a number of advantages for our club. We run different events throughout the week and we have the system programmed so we can switch easily to different set ups for different days. We also run events off-site and the system allows us to port the system easily to other locations.”
“The interface is simple, it’s dead easy to programme. And the tills are durable - they need to be. We can have up to 10,000 people through the club on a busy night. The tills need to be quick and easy to use. People don’t want to have to wait a long time for a drink because the tills are holding up the bartenders. We never have more than 6 staff on the bar, and it’s never more than 3 deep, even on the busiest nights.”
“The EPOS system works really well for us. It’s secure, long lasting and it does what we need it to do, but it’s the people we deal with at Power Epos that are the reason we stay.”
